Molly-Mae Hague says it’s up to you to decide what you do with your life
Molly-Mae Hague recently made headlines after receiving backlash following comments about everyone having the same 24 hours in a day.
The former Love Islander first found love on the blockbuster dating show and has since been able to grow her following and land huge work contracts.
The 22-year-old recently became creative director of PrettyLittleThing, which some consider a publicity stunt, but Molly-Mae insists she worked hard to achieve it.
It’s not the first time the star has been hit by controversy, being trolled for past filler mistakes, saying she doesn’t like certain foods and missing out on lavish escapades.
Here are some of the controversial moments Molly-Mae went through:

The most recent backlash Molly-Mae suffered was after appearing on a podcast and claiming “we all have the same 24 hours a day” and putting her fame and fortune to hard work.
Followers disagreed with the comments and pointed out that not everyone has the same opportunities due to the environment they grew up in.
She said, “You are given life and it’s up to you to decide what to do with it. You can literally go in any direction.
“When I’ve talked about it in the past I’ve been criticized a bit, with people saying ‘it’s easy for you to say that because you didn’t grow up in poverty, so for you to to sit there and say we all have the same 24 hours in a day is not correct. ‘ But, technically, what I’m saying is correct.
“I understand we all come from different backgrounds and we’re all raised in different ways and have different financial situations, but I think if you want something good enough you can achieve it.”
The star then posted an apology on her Instagram where she said she did not comment with “malice or evil intent.”

After spending a few days in Italy in 2020, Molly-Mae said she didn’t like food on her getaway.
At the time, she posted on her Instagram that despite her love for the area she was in, the food was not up to par.
She said: “I absolutely loved Venice, but one thing I will say about Italy in general … The food is actually shocking.
“So controversial I know, but I’ve been to different parts a few times now and tried a lot of different restaurants and I’m always very disappointed.
“It’s supposed to be the home of pizza and pasta and I really don’t see how! Strange. Even that ice cream was spooky.”
After receiving several DMs about her comments, she apologized for her remarks, but admitted that many of her followers agreed with her.
Missing lavish getaways
During the first Covid lockdown in 2020, Molly-Mae felt the tension as she missed her usual lavish getaways.
At the time, she had been locked in her luxury apartment in Manchester with her boyfriend Tommy Fury, but admitted that she “missed spontaneous nights in London… and a tanned face”.
She took to Instagram at the time posting a photo of herself grinning from ear to ear while holding a huge bouquet of red roses with an expensive designer bag.
In May 2020, the UK went into lockdown, with then-Health Secretary Matt Hancock urging Britons not to be able to get away over the summer.

These days, Molly-Mae tends to go for a more natural look, after removing her mask and veneers.
However, during her Love Island days, she sported a more upgraded look, including once lagging behind for overfill.
At one point, a photo went viral of Molly-Mae having just had facial surgery, and the star admitted she had gone too far.
But last year, she decided to have all her sealant removed as well as her composite bonds on her teeth, which she admitted left her looking prettier than ever.
